How it works
- Add your PDF. This page starts with the 30 KB target selected.
- The tool tries 150 DPI first, then lower resolutions down to 48 DPI, and stops as soon as the file is under the target.
- If the target cannot be reached, you get the smallest result with a note. If even that is larger than your original, the tool says so and gives no file.
When this size fits
- This size suits a single-page document such as a signed form or an ID copy.
- Multi-page PDFs rarely fit. Send only the pages that are required.
- If a page has a lot of detail, such as small print, a lower resolution can make it hard to read. Check the result before you upload it.
What a test showed
- One-page A4 scan, 474 KB: the result was 28 KB, under the 30 KB target.
- Ten-page A4 scan, 4.7 MB: the smallest result was 274 KB, so the target was missed.
- The result file name is yours to keep. The original stays untouched.
Test numbers come from synthetic files made for this page: a one-page A4 scan (474 KB) and a ten-page A4 scan (4.7 MB), both noisy 150 DPI images. Real files behave differently, so treat them as a guide.
Limits
- Pages become JPEG images: selectable text, links, forms and signatures are lost.
- Sizes use 1 KB = 1,000 bytes. Up to 30 MiB and 100 pages per file.
