How it works

Add your PDF. This page starts with the 50 KB target selected. The other sizes, from 50 KB to 2 MB, and No target are in the same box.
The tool tries 150 DPI first, then lower resolutions down to 48 DPI, and stops as soon as the file is under the target. Choosing a target sets the resolution automatically.
If the target cannot be reached, you get the smallest result with a note saying so. If even that is larger than your original, the tool says so and does not give you a file.

Limits

Pages become JPEG images: selectable text, links, forms and signatures are lost.
Sizes use 1 KB = 1,000 bytes. Text-heavy files can come out larger than the original; the tool says so when that happens.
Up to 30 MiB and 100 pages per file.
